"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder and "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed just can't seem to shake off the divorce rumors that have been hounding them since their wedding in 2015.

According to the rumors, Somerhalder is now ready to finalize his divorce with Reed, who allegedly no longer lives in the same house as him. The outlet also points out that this could be a chance for Somerhalder to get back together with his "The Vampire Diaries" ("TVD") co-star Nina Dobrev, with whom he had been in a long-term relationship with before he married Reed.

The outlet also theorizes that Dobrev's possible return in the upcoming season of "The Vampire Diaries" is making Reed jealous.

But sources say that Dobrev has accepted the offer to appear in the supernatural drama's final season and that she is ready to move on from her past with Somerhalder. The outlet suggests that the Somerhalder-Reed divorce rumors reemerged after Dobrev was reported to have signed on for "TVD" season 8.

Despite the never-ending divorce rumors bombarding the couple, the "TVD" star recently revealed that he wants to start having children with his wife ASAP. In an interview with E! News, Somerhalder was asked about whether or not he is planning on starting a family soon.

"Absolutely!" he answered. "I can't wait," he continued.

However, the actor admitted that something has kept him from having babies with Reed.

"But with this schedule, living on a television show, it's a bit difficult," he said.

Fortunately, "TVD" is about to debut its eighth and final season, which means that Somerhalder would have more time to devote to a future family, as well as to his personal life. But that doesn't mean that he isn't sad over "The Vampire Diaries" coming to an end.

"You develop these family dynamics here and in this particular situation, once this does end and we yell 'cut' on the last scene on the last set up of the last episode, what will be the most difficult is when the family breaks up," the actor told E!.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 debuts Friday, Oct. 21, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
