Hit sci-fi TV drama "Humans" finally returns to the UK airwaves later this month, and the premiere synopsis for season 2 has been recently released.

According to spoiler reports, season 2 kicks off several months after the events in the previous season. In Berlin, Niska (Emily Berrington) continues her life as a fugitive where an unexpected romantic encounter leads her to make a decision which has great consequences. Meanwhile in the UK, Leo (Colin Morgan), Max (Ivanno Jeremiah) and Mia (Gemma Chan) stay in a coastal hideout while Mia provides for their needs by working in a local cafe as "Anita." However, their secret might not be safe as Mia develops feelings for her human boss, Ed (Sam Palladio).

Leo and Max help a special Synth named Hester (Sonya Cassidy), but a mysterious organization will come after them. Laura (Katherine Parkinson) and Joe (Tom Goodman-Hill) attend counseling to fix their fractured relationship, while in San Francisco, a scientist researching AI named Athena Morrow (Carrie-Anne Moss) is enlisted to look into a tech company's top-secret project for Synths.

Series creators Sam Vincent and Jon Brackley recently caught up with Express, and they weighed in on the show's surprising success just after one season. According to Brackley, they never anticipated the series to immediately become a mainstream hit. "Everybody on the show was completely invested in making it as good as it could be, and it just clicked somehow, luckily. But we cannot pretend that we expected that," he explained.

Brackley also shared interesting teasers on what fans should expect for season 2. "We can certainly reveal that the small band of conscious synths that we came to know in series one are not the only conscious synths. There are more out there," he said. "Episode one goes from Berlin to San Francisco and back to the UK. We find our characters fractured and scattered, but the story will gradually reel them all back together.

The second season of "Humans" premieres in the UK on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 9 p.m. on Channel 4. Its U.S. premiere, on the other hand, is tentatively scheduled in February 2017 on AMC.
