'Humans' season 2 spoilers: New faces to grace the show; Will Niska be good or bad this season?

"Humans" season 2 has started filming in April, and fans of the acclaimed AMC series could expect new faces to grace the show. Nevertheless, viewers from the United States might have to wait longer for the upcoming season than their United Kingdom counterparts would, since according to reports, "Humans" will debut in the U.K. later this year.
According to CultBox, Channel 4 has already announced the cast line-up for the second season, with series regulars Gemma Chan, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Ivanno Jeremiah, Neil Maskell, Will Tudor, Colin Morgan, Emily Berrington, and Ruth Bradley reprising their season 1 roles that made them such household names.
They will be joined by "Jessica Jones" star Carrie-Anne Moss, "Nashville's" Sam Palladio, Letitia Wright of "Banana," "The Paradise's" Sonya Cassidy, and "True Blood's" Marshall Allman. Moss will play the role of Dr. Athena Morrow, an artificial intelligence expert, while Allman will play a young billionaire who owns a technology company, Milo Khoury.
Eight new episodes of "Humans" were immediately commissioned after the sci-fi drama, which is directed by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley, became Channel 4's highest-rated new drama series in over two decades. Channel 4 promised that season 2 would "grow, deepen and expand the world of Humans."
Meanwhile, as far as the storyline of season 2 goes, Ecumenical News said it looks like Niska (Emily Berrington) would be working for Dr. Morrow and Milo either forcibly or willingly. It can be recalled that season 1's finale saw the rebellious synth leaving with a copy of the program where the codes that could make other synths conscious are embedded.
It remains to be seen whether or not Niska would realize how much her actions and bringing more conscious synths into the world would endanger not just herself but her former allies as well and if she would start working with the others again.
As to why it was Niska who took possession of such a valuable set of codes, co-writers Vincent and Brackley said she was "the best person to be taking care of that."
"You've seen her do very bad and dangerous things and be very scary. Yet, you've also seen a different side to her, a vulnerable side, a damaged side," Vincent added. "We don't think Niska's really evil or bad in any way, but she's certainly dangerous and unpredictable, so we all thought that was an exciting place to end. It would make for an interesting journey in season 2."
"Humans" season 2 is expected to premiere on AMC sometime in 2017.
