Huawei P9 'Lite' specs rumors: Images leaked online
Huawei P9 Lite, the lower-end version of Huawei P9 is expected to be released in the company's media event this coming April 6. Recent leaks of the smartphone's specs and images added to the speculations that it will indeed arrive in time for Huawei's event in London next month.
As of the moment, retail branding is yet to be known for the lower-end version of Huawei P9, hence the name Huawei P9 Lite. However, Venturebeat's reliable tipster claims that the smartphone's internal codename is Huawei Venus. Along with the codename, Venturebeat's source known to be familiar with the phone also gave away exclusive information on the P9 Lite's specs and features.
Following the trend of budget versions of flagship smartphones, the P9 Lite retained some specs similar to the P9 including a 5.2-inch display size and 1080p screen resolution. Also to be expected is 3 GB of RAM and a rear fingerprint scanner which is similar to all of Huawei's top-of-the-line handsets since the Mate 7 was introduced in 2014. On the other hand, the P9 Lite will not have a full metal chassis and dual camera which is the signature of the Huawei P9. Lastly, a processor downgrade is highly possible for the lower-end version of P9.
Based on the rendered image tweeted by tipster OnLeaks, the P9 Lite will sport a 3.5 mm headphone jack an the top together with a microphone hole. Seen on the right is a power and volume button with dual speakers placed at the bottom, plus a SIM card tray on the left side.
The Huawei P9, P9 Lite and P9 Max are all anticipated smartphones for the upcoming Huawei media event to be held in London. Rumors claim that the phablet-type P9 Max is likely possible to include the highest specs and features among the three P9s.
