Huawei P10 release date, specs rumors: Benchmarking test might have revealed upcoming phone's specs

Recently a new benchmarking test via GFXBench was spotted and it might have revealed the specifications of the much-anticipated Huawei P10.
As noted in a report by Phone Arena, the tested mobile device was referred to by GFXBench as LON-L29 while Huawei P9's model number is LON-L19.
If the tested smartphone is indeed Huawei P10, then, it can be expected that the upcoming smartphone will sport a 5.5-inch touchscreen with 2,560 x 1,440 resolution and at least five finger gesture support. It is already a good upgrade from Huawei P9's 5.2-inch screen with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. As the benchmark test clearly shows, it looks like Huawei P10 will be released and preloaded with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
Another hefty upgrade comes with an expected Kirin 960 system-on-chip (SoC) with octa-core processing units clocked at 2.3-gigahertz (GHz) speed. The upped processor is to be paired with 6 GB random-access memory (RAM), which is ultimately greater than that of Huawei P9's 4 GB RAM. On the other hand, for its graphics processing unit (GPU), Huawei P10 is expected to be powered by ARM Mali-G71 that promises 850-megahertz frequency.
If Huawei P9's biggest internal memory option was 64 GB, GFXBench test shows a 256 GB memory, which clearly suggests an even bigger built-in memory for the successor Huawei P10.
More about its hardware, the GFXBench test also revealed that Huawei P10 will sport the same 12-megapixel (MP) rear and 8 MP front cameras. However, it needs to be confirmed whether or not these sensors are going to be made by Leica again and if the Huawei P10 will feature the same dual-camera feature on the rear. Obviously, to turn away from that feature would be a setback considering that many of the smartphones released in the second half of the year featured a dual camera.
These upgrades are a good indication since Huawei P9 has been a good product for the Chinese technology firm. Up to nine million units of Huawei P9 were sold globally. It is clearly a big contribution to Huawei's 57.3 million units sold during the first half of 2016 that puts the company at the third spot of the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world following Apple and Samsung.
