The HTC One M9 | HTC

It had long been rumored that HTC was going to release a new flagship smartphone. The company did just last Sunday. The device that was released at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona soon earned raves from reviewers.

Design was where HTC concentrated when it made its One M9, a phone with the same rounded edges as its predecessor, the HTC One (M8). The phone also has a full metal body and back panel that has been hand-polished and hence does not feel slippery when held. The phone, however, can be easily mistaken for the HTC One (M8) as it has the same BoomSound speaker grills and design, even though it has an extra ridge around its edge. As for colors, the One M9 has four options: gun metal grey, a silver and rose gold dual toned version, full gold, and finally a pink bodied version with gold accents.

The phone is of the same size as its predecessor and has a similar resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441 pixels per inch. As for the BoomSound speakers, they have been upgraded with Dolby Surround Sound.

The One M9 has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, coupled with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz. As for graphics, it is powered by an Adreno 430 GPU. In terms of RAM, it comes with 3 GB.

It also has a memory slot that can be used to add additional storage of up to 128 GB. It has 32 GB internal storage.

HTC has also focused on improving the quality of the camera on the One M9 which boasts of a 20.7 megapixel version at its rear and a 4 Ultrapixel camera for selfies in front. As for its battery, it now has a bigger 2,840 mAh non-replaceable version.

While fast charging is available, the charger provided along with the device does not support it.
