'How to Get Away With Murder' Season 3 spoilers news: Bonnie's relationship with Annalise to be explored next season

Moments full of unexpected twists and turns are about to return this Fall as the third season of ABC's suspense-drama thriller, "How to Get Away With Murder" is set to continue the story of Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) and her students. The previous season had a lot of revelations about the show's major characters that shocked a lot of viewers. Specifically, Season 2 became focused on the relationship of Annalise and Wes (Alfred Enoch), especially that the latter had shared a brief but interesting history with Wes' mother.
With respect to the show's usual antics, showrunner Peter Nowalk revealed that it's probably time to have a different format in Season 3. Nowalk revealed in an interview with TV Line that he wants to make the upcoming season new and different from Season 2.
"I don't want the show to become stale. In the back half of Season 2, we had so much emphasis on Rose's case that there wasn't room for cases of the week. We'll probably try to do a balance," said Nowalk.
Aside from Wes, there have been a lot of shocking revelations about Liza Weil's character, Bonnie during the second season. In spite of everything Bonnie has done, she remains to be Annalise's most trusted confidante and protégé, and the fans can expect that Season 3 will see more of Bonnie and Annalise's relationship. In a separate interview of Nowalk with Entertainment Weekly, he revealed that Bonnie will be playing the "mama bear" of the Keating Five that will keep the group stick together.
"She's almost the mama bear trying to connect everyone," Nowalk revealed about Bonnie's role in Season 3. "That's what her role will be. In that, I would like to explore and show you guys more how she and Annalise met, and why Annalise and this family are so important to her."
Moreover, the viewers can still expect Annalise doing what she has always done with class. "She loves her job, and I don't think she's the same person if she's not doing it. So, whether that's case of the week or case of the season, seeing her at work is what I care about," Nowalk added.
