'House of Cards' Season 5 updates, spoilers, plot rumors: Will Frank remain as the President of the United States?
The recently concluded fourth season of Netflix's political drama thriller "House of Cards" has shown a lot of down moments for one of the series' main characters, President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey). It even came to a point that an assassination plot against him almost succeeded, and left him in comatose for a few days. Also, aside from his actual political rivals, specifically in the much-coveted presidential seat in the White House, Frank's own wife, Claire Underwood, has also emerged to be his greatest enemy yet in the series. However, this time around in the upcoming fifth season, Frank may still reign victorious and ultimately win the presidential elections.
The news website Yibada noted of Frank's wife change of heart in the previous season, and that in Season 5, Claire may be even eyeing the highest post in the government and beat his own husband. In spite of Claire's evil schemes, the current president of the United States is rumored to be back to his own mischievous self and roll out his own evil plans to maintain his current stature in the world of politics. Just like how dirty he could operate in the previous seasons to take down his detractors, Frank may have a few tricks up his sleeve to stop his own wife from destroying him. It may even come to a point that Frank will be able to destroy his wife first before anything ever happens.
To recap, the current First Lady of the United States has expressed her desire to run for a higher office. In the end, the viewers saw Claire campaigning alongside Frank, vying for the position of the United States' Vice President. This alone shows how the Underwood couple can be greedy for power. As Claire is plotting to eliminate his own husband to become the first lady president of the country, she is reportedly aided by her faithful assistant, played by actress Neve Campbell. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Campbell revealed that she will have a very interesting and challenging role in "House of Cards" Season 5.
