'House of Cards' Season 5 spoilers, plot rumors: Will Claire have the upper hand in the upcoming presidential elections?

Netflix's hit political drama "House of Cards" concluded its fourth season last March, and fans are already itching to see more of their favorite series soon.
The show was made popular by the lead character Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) Machiavellian-style of political scheming, doing everything he can to satisfy his lust for being in control. However, rumor has it that the fifth season will see an unexpected character rising into power—Claire. As fans know, Claire is no ordinary woman as she is not only Frank's wife but also his vice president. If there is one person who knows Frank better than anyone else, that would be her. Claire might use that to her advantage in order to put an end to Frank's evil deeds once and for all.
If one thing is for sure, Frank will not let himself go down without a fight. Frank definitely knows how to manipulate people in his favor, and Claire going face-to-face with her husband might not be an easy feat. With his trusted right hand Doug Stamper by his side, Frank might dig up Claire's old secrets which he can use to tarnish her image.
Like Frank with Doug Stamper, Claire also has her own trusted ally—Leanne Harvey. In an interview with GQ, Leanne's portrayer Neve Campbell may have given away some details about what's to come for season 5. "It's the fun of the character that she's not afraid to go toe-to-toe with Frank Underwood and Claire and meet them in intelligence and courage. I think that's what's so fascinating to the audiences about this show," she said.
"House of Cards" season 5 is expected to premiere sometime in March 2017 on Netflix. However, the network has yet to announce an official premiere date for the show.
