Fans of Netflix's political drama thriller "House of Cards" will see a very different setting in the upcoming fifth season as Frank's confidante and number one supporter will turn into his greatest enemy yet.

President Frank Underwood's own wife, Claire (Robin Wright), has changed for the "worse" beginning in Season 4 as she slowly realized how much she was losing in herself by being a mere supporter of her president husband. As the story unfolded, Claire carefully orchestrated her rise to power until she finally became a vice presidential candidate alongside Frank (Kevin Spacey), who is seeking to extend his presidency for another four years.

Meanwhile, if the rumors are correct, Claire may have also orchestrated the romance between her assistant LeAnn Harvey and Frank's chief of staff, Doug Stamper. According to Yibada, Claire will be taking further advantage of Stamper's attraction to Harvey to establish her sinister plans against Frank.

In an interview with GQ Magazine, Neve Campbell who plays the role of Harvey stated that she finds her role interesting in the upcoming fifth season. There are rumors that Harvey is seducing Stamper so that the latter will lose focus in protecting Frank's secrets. Thus, Claire will have all the opportunity to destroy her husband as Frank's "guardian" is busy with his new love interest.

Stamper has been the biggest ally of Frank more than Claire during the fourth season. In a failed assassination attempt on Frank, his chief of staff even offered to donate his own liver in order to save the president's life. As this is obviously impossible to do, he resorted to killing an innocent person just to take his liver and offer it to Frank.

Stamper's actor, Michael Kelly, affirmed in an interview with Hollywood Reporter that his character is willing to do anything for the sake of his boss, even if it means to take his own life. Although Stamper was not there to save Frank during the failed assassination, Kelly said that the chief of staff would be willing to take the bullet only if he had known about the plot.
