'House of Cards' Season 5 rumors, spoilers, updates: Frank Underwood to win election?

"House of Cards" Season 4 has shown President Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey) in troublesome situations that took a toll on his physical, mental and emotional state. Even his political career was placed in jeopardy after a few shocking twists and turns. The influential and cunning statesman that viewers have seen in the previous seasons may not be the same as the character we saw in Season 4. However, the upcoming fifth season of the hit Netflix series may see the president standing once again and putting down his enemies. He might even win the re-election if the latest rumors were to verify.
If the latest reports point to Frank Underwood's redemption, some characters may not have a bright future ahead of them. According to a report from GQ magazine, Frank's Chief of Staff Doug Stamper (played by Michael Kelly) may have another woman on his murder list as LeAnn Harvey (played by Neve Campbell) might be pushing Stamper to his edge that would lead eventually to Stamper killing her in a fit of rage.
To recall, Frank has seen some of the worst events in his life as a politician in Season 4. He was almost killed in an assassination plot against him that left him in a coma. His insidious plans that lead to the deaths of Peter Russo (played by Corey Stole) and Zoe Barnes (played by Kate Mara) were also revisited in the series. To top it all, Franks own wife, the First Lady Claire Underwood, has turned against him and even had an affair with his publicist, Tom Yates (played by Paul Sparks).
It is interesting that the election about to take place in "House of Cards" Season 5 premiere will coincide with the actual US presidential election. When asked by The Guardian about the similarity and difference between the fictional election in the series and the real election, Spacey stated that "House of Cards" does not even come close to the election drama in the real world.
"I will go to my hotel room and wonder, 'have we gone too far... have we crossed the Rubicon by creating something unbelievable,' then I turn on the TV and watch the news... then I think we haven't gone far enough," Spacey revealed.
