'House of Cards' Season 5 news, updates, rumors: Will Season 5 feature battle of the Underwoods?

The fourth season of Netflix's original political drama thriller "House of Cards" has left a lot of fans baffled and anxious, with the upcoming new chapter in the lives of the show's lead players Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his wife Claire (Robin Wright) seeming to take a whole new different direction. The wife who was first seen in the previous seasons as an accessory to aid Frank through his political advancements, has finally become another formidable force who would take the seat of power all for herself. Frank has come face to face with a handful of ambitious politicians since day one, but the biggest threat to his political career might just be beside him all along.
Season 5 may actually take the spotlight away from Frank and transfer it on Claire, as MStarNews suggested. The Underwood patriarch, who is a non-elected President of the United States, has always been the one to beat in the previous seasons. As noted by Romper, the display of Frank's power and authority can be seen with his close-up shots with the camera, as if he is talking directly to the viewers. However, during the fourth season, it was Claire who turned to the camera and looked straight in the eyes of the viewers. This could be an indication the Claire will be assuming the role of Frank as the show's new overlord. It would not be a shocking idea after all, as Claire has become overly ambitious to run as the vice president of the United States when his husband is already running as president.
It was also reported by Yibada that Claire might go full sinister in Season 5 that she would go as far as killing his own husband, just for the sake of seizing more power. Still, knowing how ambitious and cunning Frank is, the President can be expected to use his power to stomp on his opponents before they succeed.
