"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" has been cancelled by TLC after Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's mother, June Shannon, was reported to be dating a sex offender.

TMZ first reported that June had started dating Mark McDaniel recently after she split from her partner Sugar Bear, who is Alana's father. Last May, the couple exchanged vows in front of their children, but they were never technically married.

Last month they announced their split. June was quoted as saying that "We are taking things day by day, but whatever happens the children will be our number one priority."

It appears that June was taking breaks during filming of the reality TV series to spend time with McDaniel on the sly, and TLC was unaware of it, according to various media reports online.

According to TMZ, June has also been buying McDaniel gifts after he was released from prison in March of this year.

In its report, TMZ declined to name the girl who McDaniel allegedly molested but stated that she was close to June, and the alleged incident took place when he was dating June. Since then, June's daughter Anna Cardwell has claimed that she was the child that McDaniel molested.

June has strenuously denied that she was dating McDaniel and stated that the photograph taken of her and McDaniel in a hotel room with friends was morphed.

Shortly after the published report on the June-McDaniel date, TLC dropped the "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" show, announcing that it would not be airing the upcoming season's episodes which it had already shot.

The show saw a drop in viewership as it finished its last season in August.
