Carrie faces a lot of problems in \"Homeland\" season 6 episode 2 | Sho

Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) will have a hard time dealing with Quinn (Rupert Friend) and her new assignment in the second episode of "Homeland" season 6.

In the trailer for the episode titled "The Man in the Basement," Carrie seems determined to defend Sekou (J. Mallory McCree) from the terrorist accusations thrown his way. She will argue with Special Agent Conlin (Dominic Fomusa) that the young Muslim-American was only exercising his freedom of speech, but the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) believes that all the evidence against him are pretty solid.

When Carrie and law school professor Reda Hashem (Patrick Sabongui) tried to convince Sekou to accept a plea bargain agreement with the government, Sekou refused instantly. He will violently insist that he is not guilty, which will force the police to restrain him.

Carrie also has to deal with her problems with Quinn, who appears to be unwilling to help himself recover from his near-death condition toward the end of season 5. In the trailer, Quinn seems to be experiencing hallucinations due to the medicines that he must take. This will make him distant to the people around him.

On the other hand, Dar (F. Murray Abraham) seems unwilling to welcome the new president-elect Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) since she also showed that she is distant with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). In the trailer, Keane's Chief of Staff Rob Hemmis (Hill Harper) was seen telling Dar to at least give the new president a chance. But Dar claimed that presidents do not get chances since they are normally get tested as soon as they were appointed in power.

Showtime released the official synopsis for the episode, which reads: "Carrie and Reda fight for their client. Quinn fights against his new life."

The upcoming episode of "Homeland" season 6 is expected to air on Showtime on Sunday, Jan. 22.
