'Homeland' Finale Spoilers, Plot News: Carrie Discovers Plot Against Her

In its season finale, "Homeland" saw the return of Carrie (Claire Danes) to the United States where she met her mother. Later she found out that both Saul (Mandy Patinkin) and Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) were plotting to get rid of her.
Wholly filmed in the United States, the "Homeland" finale opened with Carrie reuniting with her daughter after which she joined her sister in preparing for their father's funeral. At this point, she met her mother who abandoned them 15 years ago. She then proceeded to chase her away, much to her sister's dislike. After her father's funeral, Quinn (Rupert Friend) resurfaces and he and Carrie share a kiss.
Meanwhile, Saul Berenson decided to meet with his old mentor, Dar Adal, who was in the car with Haqqani in Pakistan when Carrie tried to kill Haqqani. At the meeting Adal informed Saul that he made a deal with Haqqani to get him off the kill list in exchange for him keeping terrorists out of Afghanistan. Haqqani then gave Adal the video of Saul which could have prevented him from rising to the top at the CIA. At first, Saul was against the idea of placing Haqqani under government protection, describing it as "sedition." But he later agreed to work with Adal.
As for Carrie, she went to meet her mother in Missouri where she discovered that she had a half brother. When Quinn called her, however, she asked for more time. Quinn took this as a rebuttal and proceeded to take an assignment in Syria.
Desperate to find Quinn, Carrie went to meet Adal where she tried to blackmail him into parting with Quinn's whereabouts. However, Adal did not budge and asked Carrie to speak to Saul who is sitting on his porch. This betrayal by Saul seemed to affect Carrie the most and she then left Adal's house determined but unsure of what she would do next.
