'Hell On Wheels' Season 5? Renewed or Canceled? Spoilers Look to Fate Of Ruth
The fate of Ruth (Kasha Kropinski) hangs in a balance after she fatally shot Sydney (Jonathan Scarfe) in the previous episode of "Hell on Wheels," which airs every Saturday at 9/8c on AMC.
In the episode which aired in October, Ruth shot Sydney twice. Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) is forced to treat Sydney humanely and ensure that he gets the best medical attention. This is because his survival will ensure that Ruth will not face trial and a death sentence.
However, at the end of the episode Sydney dies and Ruth looks set to be put on trial as a result of which she could be hung.
As per the synopsis of the upcoming episode, Cullen has to deal with an unexpected decision that Ruth makes.
Meanwhile, reporter Louise Ellison puts her reputation at risk when she decides to fight for her version of the story because she believes in it.
CarterMatt notes that the upcoming episodes will see Cullen caught between being a good lawman and protecting Ruth.
It also looks like the episodes ahead will see Cullen facing off against many people as they go against him. He also seems to be in trouble as the government also starts opposing him, while he remains committed to protecting and siding with Ruth.
The Western TV series follows the progress of the mobile camp that accompanied the First Transcontinental Railroad as it was being built . In the series most of the focus remains around the railroad.
The Western series has been renewed for a fifth season which will have 14 episodes. These will be split over two years. Entertainment Weekly notes that seven will come out next year while the rest will air in 2016. Currently "Hell On Wheels" is pulling in around 3. 4 million viewers when it airs on Saturday.
