Five-0 looks into one of history's most well-known unsolved mysteries in the upcoming episode of the hit CBS procedural drama "Hawaii Five-0" season 7.

Titled "Elua la ma Nowemapa (Two Days in November)," next week's episode will see the team work on a familiar case. According to the official synopsis for episode 9, a conspiracy theorist with compelling evidence that former U.S. President John F. Kennedy's cabinet ordered his assassination is murdered. This incident leads Five-0 to investigate one of history's most popular unsolved mysteries.

On another note, Alex O'Loughlin—who plays Lt. Comm. Steve McGarrett—has already confirmed that he will be leaving after season 8. Since he is one of the major characters in the story, it is speculated that the series will end once he leaves. Speaking with TV Guide, executive producer Peter Lenkov said it's to early to tell the show's fate, but they'll keep going as long as people are watching it.

"Over the years, we've built such a strong family ... I think they do just as well and I think people really like the family that we've built," he explained. "So, yeah, if it comes to that, there's still life after that character. But nobody's looking forward to that happening. We're all hoping he [O'Loughlin] stays."

For seven seasons, "Hawaii Five-0 " has enjoyed a Friday night timeslot that kept its numbers steady. Despite the good ratings, it has consistenly dealt with speculations on whether it will be renewed or cancelled. This season, the numbers haven't been as great as the previous years, but everything changed when the series aired its milestone 150th episode. The plot was crafted well enough to get former cast members back on board, leading to a significant ratings bump in last week's episode. According to TV Fanatic, the program managed to post solid gains for CBS after scoring an average of 9.8 million viewers and a 1.4 rating for episode 8.
