'Hawaii Five-0' season 7 episode 14 spoilers, news: Team deals with aggressive U.S. Marshall; Masi Oka explains exit as Dr. Max Bergman

The team goes up against an aggressive U.S. Marshall on the upcoming episode of "Hawaii Five-0" season 7.
Titled "Ka laina ma ke one (Line in the Sand)," this week's episode will see Five-0 track down a murder suspect. According to the official synopsis, the squad must go up against an aggressive U.S. marshall named Lincoln (guest star Lou Diamond Phillips), when a man who is wanted for murder escapes and tries to find asylum in the sovereign land that belongs to the Nation of Hawaii.
Friday's episode was bittersweet for fans since it featured the departure of Dr. Max Bergman (Masi Oka). The character was first introduced in season 1 as the chief medical examiner who has helped Five-0 in solving crimes since the show's fifth episode. He entered the series as a recurring character but later got promoted as a series regular starting season 2.
Following his sabbatical to work with Doctors Without Borders back in season 6, Max returned for the annual Halloween episode last year. At the end of episode 13, Max said his final farewell so that he could start anew in Africa along with his new wife Sabrina (Rumer Willis).
Speaking with TV Guide, Oka explained that the timing of his exit as Max was just right. Aside from Max doing "pretty much everything" he can do for the team, the actor said he can no longer commit to the series because traveling to Hawaii has become quite challenging.
"It took a physical toll on me to make 18 round-trips to Hawaii every year. It's the seventh season, so that's over 100 round-trips to Hawaii in the last six years," he stated. "And as much as I love Hawaii and I know it's champagne problems, when you're on a plane longer than you are on the ground in Hawaii, it adds up, unfortunately," the actor added.
The seventh season of "Hawaii Five-0" airs every Friday night at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
