'Hawaii Five-0' season 7 air date, spoilers: Cast to attend Sunset on the Beach for episode premiere

"Hawaii Five-0" will return to CBS on Friday, Sept. 23. On the same day, the cast of the show will be celebrating the premiere of the seventh season at Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki, Hawaii. Sunset on the Beach is a community event that allows locals to see films and shows for free on a massive screen set up on Queen's Surf Beach.
"We are thrilled to be able to share the premiere of season 7 with our extended ohana," said executive producer Peter Lenkov in an email to Star Advertiser.
The cast's involvement with Sunset on the Beach is an annual tradition. However, it will be the first time for the show to broadcast the season's pilot episode at the event on the same day the episode will air on TV. In the past, Sunset on the Beach was an avenue for an advanced screening of the new season's first episode.
The showrunners have yet to announce the "Hawaii Five-0" stars who will be attending the event. Scott Caan, who portrays detective Danny Williams, has yet to make an appearance. Perhaps he will surprise the fans this year.
Fans can once again flock to the event to know more about the upcoming season. The show will be welcoming back two important women in Steve McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) life: his mother, Doris McGarrett (Christine Lahti), and his former girlfriend, Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth). Catherine's return has indeed heightened curiosity regarding season 7 but as previously reported, her reunion with Steve McGarrett will not be a second chance to rekindle their romance.
Moreover, sources said that Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) might let go of his niece Sara Diaz (Londyn Silzer). To recap, Sara's father died last season and Chin had to take her in. However, the nature of Chin's work is not conducive for raising a young girl. Sara will possibly join her relatives in Mexico.
Fans can catch the seventh season of "Hawaii Five-0" on Friday, Sept. 23, at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
