'Hawaii Five-0' season 6 spoilers: Kono and Adam reunites, two-part finale confirmed

CBS' police procedural series "Hawaii Five-0" is only a few weeks away from its finale, and recent reports say that the show is expected to end with a bang.
Showrunner Peter M. Lenkov recently caught up with TVLine to share some details about the looming season finale for the CBS series. Lenkov described the two-hour season finale on May 13 as "very serious" and nothing short of suspenseful as it will feature a plane landing on a small island. "McGarrett ends up getting shot, and Danny, who's never flown a plane before, has to land their plane," the executive producer hinted. "The stakes are really big."
Meanwhile, tomorrow's episode will feature a long overdue reunion involving Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) and Kono (Grace Park), but will be under "interesting circumstances." Lenkov exclusively shared details about Friday's episode to TV Guide which will take place after a chemical spill. Because of the health hazard, the prison where Adam is serving his sentence will conduct an evacuation, and all the inmates will be transferred to a safer location. However, the bus with Adam and "a bunch of other inmates that we've met through the years" will be ambushed, leading the prisoners to escape. "It's a manhunt through the jungle," he teased. "Adam's one of the escapees, and you're not sure if he's doing it on his own or he's being forced to do it."
As noted by The Futon Critic, the official synopsis for episode 21 reads:
"Ka Pono Ku'oko'a - Five-0 goes on a manhunt when a deliberate chemical spill enables six dangerous inmates to escape, including Kono's husband, Adam (Ian Anthony Dale)."
The sixth season of "Hawaii Five-0" airs Fridays 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The latest episode is titled "Ka Pono Ku'oko'a (The Cost of Freedom)," and it will air tomorrow, April 22.
