The third season of AMC's "Halt and Catch Fire" is set to premiere tomorrow, Aug. 23 and Mutiny is all set to join the big leagues in Silicon Valley.

Season 3 picks up in March 1986 when Mutiny leaves The Lone Star State for Silicon Valley. Together, founders Donna Clark (Kerry Bishé) and Cameron Howe (Mackenzie Davis) begin their search for an idea which can launch their brainchild as a player, but certain complications will test how far their partnership will go. Gordon (Scoot McNairy) will have a hard time finding his place in his wife's company while Joe McMillan (Lee Pace) works on building his own empire. To reach his goals, Joe reinvents himself with a bold strategy but his decisions will later lead him back to his old partners.

In an interview with USA Today, co-creator Christopher C. Rogers explained that their decision to move the story to a new setting was because he felt it was not right to keep the characters from Silicon Valley. "They have to get in the arena with the real sharks in California," he added. Now that the stakes are getting higher, more conflicts and tension can be expected in the coming season. Now that Joe is a successful tech businessman, he will cross paths with Cameron, Donna and Donna's husband Gordon.

In the show, Mutiny is a celebrated project because it featured exceptional and intelligent women competing in a male-dominated tech industry. However, Bishé and the creators believe that it "would not have been less unusual in the 1980s" compared to how it would be in the present. The plot will explore the women as they learn to navigate Silicon Valley — from coming up with a big idea to getting funding from capital firms. Along the process, they will meet a role model/ally named Diane Gould (Annabeth Gish) and attempt working on a concept involving transactional interaction similar to the present day's Amazon or eBay.

"Halt and Catch Fire" season 2 premieres on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 9 pm EST and the succeeding episodes will air Tuesday nights at 10 pm EST on AMC.
