AMC's critically-acclaimed drama series, "Halt and Catch Fire" will have its much-awaited return next month, and the upcoming third season will see Mutiny move from Texas to California.

To recap, the show's previous season followed Donna Clark (Kerry Bishé) and Cameron Howe's (Mackenzie Davis) efforts to introduce their online games start-up company to the market. Season 3 will see the two founders of Mutiny in a new environment as they move forward to the world's innovation capital — Silicon Valley. With the stakes getting higher, Donna and Cameron must prove that Mutiny deserves to be launched worldwide. The duo will meet new collaborators and their partnership will be tested.

The plot picks up in March 1986, with Donna and Cameron searching for an idea to make Mutiny stand out from the rest. Meanwhile, Gordon (Scoot McNairy) will have difficulties in finding his place in his wife's business. Joe McMillan (Lee Pace) attempts to reinvent himself to build his own empire, but he will do a bold move that leads him back to his old partners.

"If season one was a tale of the corporate boardroom and season two chronicled a start-up, season three is about the perils of a promising young company striving to join the ranks of the winners whose names still define the competitive landscape of Silicon Valley," showrunners Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers said in a press statement via AMC. "Whereas Mutiny was once a rag-tag group of young coders full of limitless potential, the company now finds itself squarely in its adolescence, striving for corporate adulthood in a strange land where its future is far from guaranteed."

How far will Donna and Cameron go to launch their startup company? Tune in to "Halt and Catch Fire" season 3 which premieres on Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. EST on AMC.
