'Halo Wars 2' release date, news & update: New details on protagonist and antagonist revealed
The soundtrack for "Halo Wars 2" has revealed details on the campaign of the highly-anticipated real-time strategy game in terms of the kind of characters players will encounter.
In a description by composers Brian Lee White and Brian Trifon collectively known as the Finishing Move for the track "Run Little Demons," the team teased the enemies that the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) will be up against in "Halo Wars 2."
"Atriox and the Banished are a dark, gritty and powerful enemy, arguably one of the toughest opponents the UNSC has encountered to date - and they are also a very intelligent and nuanced group," the description read.
"We wanted to craft a soundscape that captured the raw power and brutality of the banished warlords, while simultaneously underscoring their complexities with beautiful orchestral details and bespoke musical sound design," they added.
They also revealed a bit of details about "Halo Wars 2" character Isabel, revealing that she joins the world "in a time of turmoil and loss and needs to quickly step up to some overwhelming challenges."
The track for the character is titled "Isabel's Awakening" and it aids the somber mood upon her arrival and the sadness she contains as she deals with the death of heroes.
"Halo Wars 2" will be released early next year. There are rumors going around that a remastered version of the original game will be released before the sequel arrives.
These reports remain unfounded though so fans will have to wait on the official word from Microsoft to learn if they have plans to bring back the 2009 game with updated graphics.
"Halo Wars 2" will be playable on the Windows 10 personal computer (PC) and the Xbox One, making it one of the first titles to be available on both.
It is also included in the Xbox Play Anywhere program, which means gamers can play it on both consoles and not lose the progress.
"Halo Wars 2" will be out February 2017.
