Ever since the release of "Half-Life 2" more than 10 years ago, many fans were waiting for a third installment to come out; however, for all those years all they got are just rumors and speculations. Apparently, the success of "Half-Life 2" did not push the game developer, Valve Corporation, to create a follow up right away. According to the latest reports, there is still a slim chance for "Half Life 3" to come out in the market.

Many fans are still positive that the people behind the "Half-Life" series will announce the third game anytime soon. "Minecraft" creator Markus "Notch" Persson recently posted on his Twitter account a request for the game developer to release the highly anticipated "Half-Life 3." Immediately, Persson's Twitter post sparked a rumor that he has significant information regarding the development of the game.

However, the game creator followed it with another tweet saying that he doesn't have any idea with regard to "Half-Life 3."

In a report by Rolling Stone, "Half Life" fans definitely have something to get excited about. Although Valve has yet to provide significant details with regard to their plan about the video game series, the publication said that the second installment sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. Its popularity will push the game developer to produce another title.

However, the question fans are asking now is, when will it come out? As of the moment, Valve does not have any answer to that question.

Meanwhile, Ecumenical News reported that there are speculations circulating all over the Internet suggesting that Valve will release "Half-Life 3" in 2018. The publication added that the third installment will be VR ready. The report added that Valve will make major changes to the game, which could also be the reason why the development has been delayed.
