Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton dating rumors: No, they're not engaged yet; Blake details how their romance blossomed
Their relationship seems to be growing stronger as they spend more time together, but according to Blake Shelton, their romance had a "chaotic" start.
"The Voice" coach and country artist Blake Shelton recently released what he claims is his most personal album to date, and in an interview with Rolling Stone published just on June 1, he talked about the turbulent year that helped conceptualize his album and his romance with Gwen Stefani.
The 39-year-old country singer told Rolling Stone that their relationship took a while before finding its place, considering both he and Stefani were going through high-profile divorces.
"We were starting 'The Voice' last year, and I had to sit down and go, 'Look, by the time this thing airs, my life will have completely changed, and we need to talk about this now because it may affect what we talk about on the show,'" Shelton said.
It was apparent he had his mind on his divorce from wife and fellow country artist Miranda Lambert last July. He felt there shouldn't be any secrets between him and Stefani until she herself split from Gavin Rossdale, her husband of 13 years, a month after. Their marriages that were falling apart at the seams seemed to be the glue that bonded the two together.
"We just started to develop a friendship after that," the Oklahoma native told Rolling Stone. "And it took a while because it's chaos. But just over time, seeing each other a lot at work, it just kind of developed into that."
Meanwhile, Stefani has denied that she's engaged to Shelton, whom she has been seeing since last fall.
In a radio interview with 94.7 Fresh FM's "The Tommy Show" last Wednesday, Stefani said that, although their romance might have fast-forwarded a bit and they do talk about their future together, they are taking it "one day at a time."
"Everything's crazy right now so no, absolutely not," she told Tom McFly, the show's host.
