"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn and movie lead Chris Pratt gush about each other after working for the second time in the Marvel Studios film.

Pratt is excited about how the sequel turned out and he credits it all to the man on the director's seat. "James Gunn is the auteur," Pratt told People, adding that he is the man behind it all.

"So this is completely his vision. In my opinion, there is no equal in Hollywood. I think he is the best I've worked for, and with. And I owe so much to him. Really. And, it's him," he went on to gush.

Teasing "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Pratt said that it will be "bigger and better than the first movie in every way. And that's saying a lot because I think the first movie is really good."

Gunn sent the love back to the actor on Facebook by saying, "I'm grateful every day for Chris Pratt, and he truly does turn in the performance of a lifetime in GotG Vol. 2," he said.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will see the ragtag group of interstellar heroes back in action. However, Groot is not as big as fans will remember while two new members are added — Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Nebula (Karen Gillan).

The sequel will also finally see Star-Lord (Pratt) and his father, Ego the Living Planet (Kurt Russell), meet after years of longing.

In the first trailer released for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Baby Groot definitely stole the show, but as revealed by Gunn himself, he was always nervous about pitching a different version of the fan-favorite character.

He pointed out in a series of tweets that Baby Groot is by no means a marketing ploy, and is simply a result of a "creative change that opened the film up for me."

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" hits the theaters May 5, 2017.
