'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' release date, spoilers news: Stan Lee cameo confirmed?

Marvel Comics chairperson Stan Lee will make a cameo appearance on "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." This was confirmed by director James Gunn himself on Facebook.
The filmmaker posted a photo of him meeting Lee at the San Diego Comic-Con. In the caption, Gunn sent praises and kind words Lee's way. The photo, of course, had many fans flocking.
One commenter said that he hopes Lee's cameo appearance in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," which was not confirmed at that time, will be great.
Gunn commented a thumbs-up emoticon in reply, which was taken to mean that Lee will indeed be doing a cameo in the highly-anticipated sequel.
Of course, Lee has been popping in most Marvel films so it is not surprising that he will be stopping by in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."
Lee has appeared in various Marvel films from "Spider-Man" films to "Iron Man" and "Avengers" films and even "Deadpool," where he played various fun characters for short seconds.
Lee appeared in "Captain America: Civil War," where he played a delivery man around the end of the movie where he incorrectly pronounced Ton Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) as "Stank," which gave Rhodey (Don Cheadle) a good chuckle.
With regards to the plot, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is rumored to be connected to "Thor: Ragnarok" through newcomer Mantis (Pom Klementieff).
How that will happen, the folks at The Hashtag Show are claiming that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) will come across an alien race known as Cotati.
In the comics, these beings are the ones who introduced Mantis to her powers when he was a young lady. There's no information on the extent of the connection and if Mantis will make an appearance in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."
For now, Klementieff is booked for the sequel only, but fans of the character hope that she will be popping up more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) soon.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" releases May 5, 2017.
