'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' plot spoilers: James Gunn teases theme, baby Groot voice and trailer

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn continues to share a thing or two about the highly-anticipated sequel. This time, he talks about the film's theme and baby Groot.
In a Facebook video featuring star Vin Diesel, who provides the voice of Groot, Gunn revealed that the underlying theme of the movie is family in its broadest sense.
"The first movie was really about becoming a family. [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2] is about being a family. And what's harder, becoming a family or being a family?" Gunn mused, choosing the latter as his answer.
"That's where you really have to deal with each other. And that's what this movie is about. And their sisters. They are family, whether they like it or not," he added.
Gunn also mentioned that the complication here is that "they also want to kill each other, so it adds a new twist to being a sister," likely referring to Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Nebula (Karen Gillan)," who joins the team in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."
The film will be heavy with family drama for sure not only the Guardians as a group but their familial issues as well. This starts from Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and his search for his father.
It also has to do with Gamora and Nebula's complicated relationship and Drax (Dave Bautista) still trying to move on from losing his family. With all that said, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will indeed explore family heavily.
Meanwhile, Gunn also spoke about Groot, who was a baby by the end of the first movie. Although the fan-favorite character is smaller, Diesel will still be providing the voice of the said Guardian.
With regards to the trailer, Gunn advised fans to be patient for the trailer of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." He said that there is no way for it to be released earlier than schedule.
The filmmaker added that "I appreciate the interest," but urged fans to simply wait it out as questions about it sometimes go overboard and out of hand.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" hits the cinemas May 5, 2017.
