'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' news, spoilers: Director James Gunn reveals Baby Groot in final storyboard image for sequel

Director James Gunn recently shared his last storyboard image for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," the sequel to the 2014 blockbuster hit "Guardians of the Galaxy."
The rough sketch, which Gunn shared with his followers on Facebook, shows the director's drawings of Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) standing together in what could be the film's final shot.
In the sketch, Gunn noted that the characters appear in pure silhouette and that Rocket pulls out a pen light and shines it at the camera.
"The last #WhatWeShotWednesday on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Gunn captioned the image. "Yes I know I misspelled silhouette. I love these characters (and the performers and visual effects artists who help me bring them to life) and I'm grateful to have spent the last few years working with them. #GotGVol2"
There are only a few more days left in the sequel's 90-day filming schedule. On Monday, June 13, Gunn announced that Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora, has wrapped and on Tuesday, Dave Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer, said that he only had one more day left of filming for the sequel.
On Thursday, Gunn posted a Facebook video of him wrapping Pratt on the set of "Vol. 2." In the video, he and Pratt announce that the film's cast will be at this year's Comic-Con, which will be held in San Diego next month.
In April, Gunn spoke about the challenges of filming the hotly anticipated sequel at a Q&A session during the Atlanta Film Festival. "It's been a lot of hard work, honestly," he said. "It's a much bigger film. Also at the same time, a much more intimate film, more character-driven in certain ways, so it's just a lot of work. And everybody has been on their game."
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" hits theaters May 5, 2017.
