'GTA VI' release date, news, rumors: Next installment to be released in 2018? Possible new location in London

If the latest rumors are to be believed, the highly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto VI" might revolutionize the hit adventure shooter game franchise by Rockstar. It is expected to feature a lot of firsts for the game series, including a new game location that will be set outside the United States. Also, for the very first time, the next "Grand Theft Auto" game title will be introducing a female main protagonist.

It has already been speculated that Rockstar Games is considering other countries as new locations for the next "Grand Theft Auto" installment. The previous "GTA" titles have the center of action in a fictitious city in the United States, but for "Grand Theft Auto VI," the game developer company wants to explore other diverse cultures that may interest players.

As reported by Tech Radar, Rockstar is rumored to send representatives in different countries to study the potential "GTA VI" location, although it was initially rumored that Rockstar has already chosen Tokyo City. It was even rumored that "Grand Theft Auto VI" will be named as "GTA VI: Tokyo." However, Mobi Picker recently reported that there is a high possibility as of the meantime that the next "GTA" location will be in the city of London.

Meanwhile, Yibada reported that the A-list Hollywood actress Eva Mendez will be the voice actor of the next main protagonist of the "Grand Theft Auto" series. If the rumors verify, it will be the first time that a "Grand Theft Auto" video game introduced a female main character whereas the previous "GTA" titles all featured an all-male lead. Her partner, Ryan Gosling, is also rumored to voice an unknown character in the game.

Rockstar Games has not yet confirmed the launching of "Grand Theft Auto VI," although the rumors are rife that the next installment of the franchise is not arriving soon. "GTA VI" may be released sometime in 2018 at the earliest. It is also possible that the game will be launched much later in 2020.
