'GTA VI' release date news 2016: Rockstar Games not expected to release new 'GTA' soon due to 'GTA V'
It's almost the last quarter of the year, but until now, Rockstar Games is not yet giving concrete information that the much-awaited "Grand Theft Auto VI" will come to fruition. The game studio once stated that there are always plans to continue the highly successful franchise to its sixth installment, but the question is if the game will be released in the near future. As of the meantime, the chance of "GTA VI" appearing next year, or in 2018 at the very least, remains slim.

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, the official publisher of the "Grand Theft Auto" game series, seem to not be in a hurry to move on from "Grand Theft Auto V" and continue with a sixth installment. As reported by iTech Post, the fans of the franchise may need to wait longer for "GTA VI." Those who are expecting a new game next year may only end up being disappointed, as according to the latest reports, Rockstar and Take Two are still focused on "GTA V."
The online publication noted that "Grand Theft Auto V" has continued to expand over the past several months, particularly on its multiplayer online mode. The game is still performing well in the market, not to mention the players' interest in the game has not wavered just yet. With this, Rockstar keeps on striking while the game is still hot, recently releasing new downloadable content packs (DLC) for the past few years. The next DLC pack for the "GTA V" Online is called the "Biker."
Meanwhile, Cinema Blend reported that the development of "GTA VI" has no definite status yet, meaning Rockstar has not yet prioritized a new "GTA" title. If the rumors are anything to go by, the public will see more of "GTA V" and its future new content packs until 2018. Two years from now may be worth the wait, however, as the next installment could feature the latest improvements in the gaming world. One of these is the possible virtual reality (VR) integration in "GTA VI," as what the gamers have seen with the other newly-released video games.
