'GTA 6' release date rumors update: Rockstar to launch game in 2018?
Rockstar Games is planning to create the sixth installment for the action-adventure video game franchise "Grand Theft Auto" ("GTA"). Though the game will be developed by Rockstar, the studio has no immediate plans to launch it
Game reviewers are reportedly expecting "GTA 6" to launch sometime in 2018. According to reports, "GTA 5" is still a big hit and is still raking in a lot of profit for the video game developer. Hence, the studio is in no hurry of producing a sequel.
On the first day of its release in the U.S., Rockstar earned $800 million from "GTA 5." On its first three days, the developers garnered a billion dollars.
Though the latest game is quite popular, a few setbacks have been reported. One example is the storyline, which reports say needs a bit of improvement. So that the game can create a better sequel, developers need to plan out the sixth installment and then create it. Reports say that development will take a couple of years.
Reports say that the developers are waiting for advances in the game console industry. They might even be preparing for a virtual reality experience.
Rumor has it that the upcoming game will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users as well as PC gamers.
In 2013, video game producer Leslie Benzies announced in a press conference, "We've got about 45 years' worth of ideas we want to do." He added, "We don't know what 'GTA VI' will be, but we've got some ideas."
Rockstar Games has yet to make any announcements on the sixth installment of the franchise. Reports should be treated as speculation until proven otherwise.
