'GTA 6' release date rumors: New installment delayed because of upcoming 'GTA 5' DLCs?

"Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6" is one of the most-anticipated installments to be released in the market, but the game's launch might now be delayed to make way for other projects being prioritized by developer Rockstar Games.

According to recent reports, the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series is already in the works. The dev team, however, is said to be prioritizing "Grand Theft Auto 5" and its upcoming expansion packs instead. These latest developments seem to contradict previous claims that Rockstar has already decided to cancel the next installment in the franchise. Although the information now is very different, most reports still claim that gamers won't get their hands on a new addition to the "Grand Theft Auto" series in the next few years.

Aside from Rockstar's different priorities, another speculated reason for the game's delay is the possible integration of "GTA 6" for high-end technologies including various virtual and augmented reality gaming platforms.

Further details on the "GTA 6" continue to remain under wraps, but there are speculations that it will officially be launched sometime between 2018-2020, which would be the same release window for upcoming next-gen consoles.

It's important to note that if "GTA 6" will be launched in 2018 or in a much later year, it would need to keep pace with the latest technology in order to avoid compromising the quality and reputation of the famed franchise. Similar to the previous games in the series, "Grand Theft Auto 6" is expected to be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PC. Additionally, the next installment will have enhanced resolutions to give users a better gaming experience. More missions to unlock, gameplay animations and a bigger world to explore is also expected from "GTA 6."

While waiting for the next title's release, "GTA 5" is currently available in the market for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $43.80 to $59.99. Rockstar has yet to comment on the status of "GTA 6."
