'GTA 6' release date rumors and news: Rockstar Games may announce the new game at E3?

"GTA 6" has been one of the most talked about video game titles that are rumored to come out this year. The current installment of the series was released in September 2013; many fans are hoping that game developer Rockstar Games will finally make the fifth sequel of the franchise official at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016.

The annual event is scheduled to happen this month at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Rumor has it that Rockstar Games may provide details with regard to the development of the upcoming title. According to the latest reports, it has been a plan by the company to surprise fans with solid information about "GTA 6." However, the game developer has yet to confirm these reports.

According to Christian Times, fans have reasons to believe that the game will be the highlight of E3 for the company. However, the publication also added that Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, are currently concentrating on creating more DLC packs for "GTA V." Not only that, they are also busy giving updates for its popular "GTA Online."

Meanwhile, despite the loud rumor of the game coming out anytime soon, video game observers believe that "GTA 6" will not come out to the market until 2018. They took note of the release pattern of the company when "GTA IV" was rolled out in 2008, which was followed by "GTA V" in 2013. Apparently, Rockstar Games follows a five-year release pattern. If rumors prove to be true, fans can expect "GTA 6" to become available in Sept. 2018, which is exactly 5 years after the release of "GTA V."

What's interesting is that fans may no longer see another "GTA" game, according to a report by N4BB. The publication said that the lack of fan interest may signal the end of the franchise.

However, many fans are keeping it positive and hope that the company will finally announce the game this month.
