"Grand Theft Auto 6" has been a favorite subject of numerous rumors and speculations ever since the current installment of the series came out in 2013. The rumored sixth installment of the open world action-adventure video game was expected by many fans to be announced at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016. However, Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive failed to provide concrete details about the upcoming title. Apparently, the two companies are said to be focusing on a different project.

Previous reports suggested that "GTA 6" could be set in London; however, Rockstar allegedly did not like the idea and decided to add the Seattle map into the game, IGN reported.

Many fans were excited when the rumor came out that the game will go back to London. Apparently, some fans like the idea that their character will drive a right-hand vehicle. It appears that Rockstar Games will stick to a U.S. location for the next game title.

Meanwhile, during an interview with The Guardian, Dan Houser, the writer of "Grand Theft Auto V," did not dismiss the speculation that the company is planning to include a female lead character into the current game.

"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things that we always think about, Houser explained. "It didn't feel natural for this game but definitely for the right game in the future - with the right themes, it could be fantastic. But for GTA V, this was the organic thing that came up, these were the characters what would display the themes we wanted to think about."

As of the moment, fans will have to stay tuned for more updates about the upcoming sequel of "Grand Theft Auto 5."
