'GTA 6' release date, gameplay news 2016: Upcoming title to feature a larger map?

"GTA 6" has been in the rumor mill for a while now. Since the release of the current installment in Sept. 2013, fans have been talking about another sequel to come out anytime soon. Latest reports suggest that Rockstar Games already has a plan to release the upcoming title; however, no official details about its release, much less its development, have been provided by the company. According to the report, the fifth sequel of the open world online multiplayer video game will feature a new map that is said to be larger than that of "GTA 5."

Although the company has yet to reveal anything, many fans believe that the idea of building a larger map started many years ago. Rockstar Games President Leslie Benzies said during an interview that future "GTA" installments will have bigger maps than its previous titles. He hinted that some of the old featured maps might be included in the future.

"Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas, and in that context reimagining Vice City would be very interesting," Benzies revealed to Digital Trends in 2012.

Meanwhile, there are speculations all over the Internet that the company is intentionally delaying the game's release. According to reports, Rockstar Games meant to delay the development of "GTA 6" because of their plans to debut on the next generation of gaming consoles. Rumor has it that Sony and Microsoft are currently planning to develop new consoles that could be released in the next couple of years.

Although none of these reports have been confirmed by the parties mentioned, fans have continued to talk about them on different social media outlets. For now, player might find a way to enjoy the current "GTA" as it appears that the next installment may not be released anytime soon.
