The wait for the last installment of "Grimm" will soon be over, as NBC prepares for the premiere of the show's sixth and final season.

Unlike the previous five seasons that were composed of 22 episodes, season 6 will only have 13 episodes. While fans of the series were disappointed with the news, the showrunners were somehow relieved that they will not have to go through all the troubles of getting a full season order.

"There was a chance that we would have gotten 22 [episodes], and we were going, 'Oh my God,'" co-showrunner James Kouf told TVLine in an interview. He said that creating more episodes for the series will diminish the quality of the show. The other showrunner, David Greenwalt, also claimed that doing all 22 episodes could be too much.

Both showrunners also claimed that they only have the right amount of "energy and the clarity and the creativity to push us through 13 great episodes." However, they promised that the final three episodes of the series will be very explosive.

On the other hand, actor Silas Weir Mitchell also teased that the viewers of the show will be satisfied with all the answers that they will get before the supernatural police procedural series ends. "The fans have stuck with us from this night to that night and this time to that time. They deserve answers. They deserve the satisfaction of an ending," the actor who portrays the role of Monroe stated in an interview with the same publication.

Some of the expected plot in the upcoming season of "Grimm" include Rosalee's (Bree Turner) pregnancy, the mystery of the magic stick, as well as the intensifying battle between Nick (David Giuntoli) and Renard (Sasha Roiz).

Fans will also find out if Nick and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) will get back together, or if the Grimm and his baby mama Adalind (Claire Coffee) will have a chance to be together again despite the threats of Adalind and Renard's daughter Diana (Hannah R. Loyd).

The sixth season premiere of "Grimm" is slated to air on NBC on Friday, Jan. 6.
