'Grimm' season 6 spoilers, plot news: Will Nick fight against Frankenstein's monster?

Nick and his allies will have their last chance to defeat evil once and for all in the upcoming sixth and final season of NBC's "Grimm."
According to spoiler reports, season 6 will pick up on the events after the nefarious forces of Black Claw have been silenced, as Nick (David Giuntoli) deals with an all too familiar enemy in Capt. Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). Now that he is the mayor-elect of Portland, Renard will be bringing his own brand of law and order in the area.
Nick will be compelled to make a move to protect his city and the people closest to him, particularly his child with Adalind (Claire Coffee). Through the help of his allies, Nick will find a way to bring peace in the city. Meanwhile, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) will experience some struggle as they begin raising a child into a new and tumultuous world. Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) will also face unsettling identity issues as her former self threatens to come back.
While not much details are known about the upcoming installment, TV Line recently reported that Frankenstein will be in the story. The media outlet, however, did not reveal whether season 6 will feature Victor Frankenstein and his monster, its own version of Mary Shelley's novel or an entirely different story. Since the series debuted back in 2011, Nick has dealt with some of TV's most terrifying creatures. It is of little surprise that the program will be including a popular monster from classic literature.
Viewers started being concerned about the fate of "Grimm" when the series received a reduced episode order, from having 22 episodes down to 13. Last season, the supernatural drama had a ratings average of 1.6 for adults 18-49 and 6.0 million viewers across major viewing platforms. Despite the dip in numbers, "Grimm" still ranked as one of the highest-rated scripted series aired on Friday.
The sixth season of "Grimm" premieres on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
