When loss and science are combined, a frightening creature arises on the upcoming episode of NBC's supernatural drama "Grimm" season 6.

Titled "The Son Also Rises," next week's episode will see Nick (David Giuntoli) and his friends handle a strange case. According to the official synopsis, Nick, Hank (Russell Hornsby), and Wu (Reggie Lee) work on a case unlike anything they've done before when a team of scientists becomes the target of deadly attacks.

Elsewhere, research into the origins of the cloth continues. Rosalee (Bree Turner) and Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) later discover that Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) is still struggling with the after-effects of the death grip. Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) is determined to find answers about the origins of the symbols illustrated by Diana, so he reaches out to an old friend to ask help. "Chuck" star Vik Sahay is guest starring in the episode.

Friday's hour explored a Shakespeare-inspired storyline. Rosalee surprised Monroe with a birthday getaway with the gang. Upon checking in at the hotel, an employee recognizes Nick as the cop who put his Wesen father in jail. To exact revenge, he cooked up a love potion that drove Nick and Co. into a murderous rage.

With only six episodes left before "Grimm" concludes, Tulloch recently spoke with Huffington Post to share her thoughts on the show's upcoming finale. "I can't believe we made it to 123 episodes," she said. "That rarely happens anymore and we have our fans to thank for their loyalty. The end of this has been really bittersweet," she added.

The actress added that the past two weeks since she finished filming has been tough because she misses the cast and crew. When asked for teasers about the finale, Tulloch said fans should "watch with tissues nearby" as it will certainly be an emotional episode.

The sixth and final season of "Grimm" airs every Friday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
