'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers: Arizona returns from NYC; Jessica Capshaw talks Arizona's future after failed marriage

After a brief stay in New York City, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) will finally return home in the upcoming episode of ABC's top-rating medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.

Titled "I Ain't No Miracle Worker," tonight's episode will bring a beloved character back. According to the official synopsis, episode 3 will feature a car crash at a funeral that brings a feuding family into the hospital. Shortly after coming back from the Big Apple, Arizona becomes involved in the tension between Andrew and Alex. While Ben takes on the role of a new parent, Amelia goes out of her way to help Meredith and Maggie find a way to solve a problem.

At the end of season 12, Arizona was not seen in the series because she was visiting New York. She also had to take some time off to focus on helping Sofia, her daughter, to get settled with ex-wife Callie (Sara Ramirez) and girlfriend Penny (Samantha Sloyan)â€”who both decided to move across the country.

Now that Callie is in New York and everyone are happy and settled there, viewers will see how Arizona begin putting herself first this season. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Capshaw hinted that more positive things will be coming Arizona's way.

"Arizona is one of the most board certified surgeons at the hospital when you think about all the specialties she has gone through (laughs)," the actress said. "Now that she's newly divorced and is throwing herself back into that world, she'll be a little more sure-footed. Again, no one has to feel bad for anyone being left and now we can move forward. There's real opportunity for fun and an energetic, excited, willing person. That is what I'm hoping for."

After her failed marriage with Callie, Arizona will be meeting a new love interest. Details about the new character are still under wraps, but Capshaw hopes that it will be someone who "has a great amount of confidence and excitement."

The 13th season of "Grey's Anatomy" airs every Thursday night at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
