'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 episode 3 spoilers, synopsis: Arizona returns only to get caught in between Alex and Andrew's drama
In the third episode of the thirteenth season of ABC's medical drama series "Grey's Anatomy," Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) will be back from her trip to New York, only to find herself in the middle of Alex (Justin Chambers) and Andrew's (Giacomo Gianniotti) pervading drama.
Episode 3 is titled "I Ain't No Miracle Worker." Once again, Grey Sloan Memorial's emergency room will welcome drama and chaos into their halls. In this particular episode, a car crash at a funeral will drag a bunch of bickering family members into the hospital. The residents will treat the family's bumps and bruises and perhaps their seemingly never-ending squabbling.
Miranda will have a difficult time juggling her hectic schedule and her family. This will cause a few arguments with her husband Ben (Lance Gross).
Furthermore, the titular character Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will turn to her later husband's sister Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) for some advice on patching her relationship with half-sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary). Even though Meredith feels Alex's current tragedy, the surgeon will have to step back and step away from his problem.
"I think as long as it's within the law," Pompeo told US weekly with a laugh, adding, "Alex is her ride-or-die."
"Meredith has to pull it back," the actress added. "She took that step toward possibly threatening, and then got her hand slapped by Dr. Bailey, and she doesn't want to make anything worse for Alex, so she's had to rein it in. She owns the hospital — she doesn't need a lawsuit," she explained.
To recap the first few episodes, Alex surrendered to the police shortly after he physically assaulted his co-worker. The pediatric surgeon was found guilty and was charged with a felony. Miranda's kindness spared him from harsh sanctions, but the doctor was demoted and was therefore suspended from performing surgeries. Alex will be working at Duquette Clinic for a few weeks.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 episode 3 is expected to premiere on ABC on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. EDT.
