The third season of "Gotham" recently premiered, and the upcoming second episode will see Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) track down Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith) with the help of an unlikely character.

Season 2 left off with a hopeful note, as the former Golden Boy of the GCPD planned on getting back with his ex-fiancée Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin). In the season 3 premiere, however, Jim found out that Lee was already dating another man, leading him to have a different perspective in life.

After a six-month time jump, Jim turned into a much angrier and darker character. Instead of rejoining the GCPD, he chose to be a bounty hunter as a means to earn money. Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), along with the Indian Hill escapees, are currently dying since their bodies are rejecting the changes done by Dr. Strange (BD Wong). Bruce (David Mazouz) was kidnapped after threatening to expose Wayne Enterprises while Selina's (Camren Bicondova) friend Ivy (Clare Foley) was touched by a creature with speed aging powers.

The next episode titled "Mad City: Burn The Witch..." will see if Strange's experiments will survive. According to the official synopsis for episode 2, Fish Mooney will take matters into her own hands to locate Hugo Strange, the sole person who can help her and the rest of the experiment subjects. In order to track her down, Gordon will reluctantly team up with journalist Valerie Vale (guest star Jamie Chung). Meanwhile, Penguin gets the spotlight after criticizing the work of the GCPD and Bruce's investigation of the Court of Owls becomes compromised. Ivy Pepper (Maggie Geha) will also be reintroduced in Gotham City as an all-grown woman.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Ken Woodruff mentioned that Ivy's age will not be the sole change for her. "When she's changed and transformed, there's a real character change as well," he explained. "She'll still have some of the same traits, but she'll be much darker, more manipulative than the Ivy we've seen so far. There's a more evil quality to her as well. It's more than just physical."

Keep tuning in to "Gotham" season 3 every Monday night at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
