'Gotham' season 3 spoilers, air date: Morena Baccarin talks about love quadrangle
Dr. Leslie "Lee" Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) seemed as if she wasn't returning to Gotham City after her relationship with Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) came to a brutal end and she lost their baby. However, Baccarin's Thompkins mustered enough courage to return, thanks to an unexpected new man who makes an appearance in her life.
Adding the new love interest to the equation, viewers can see a love quadrangle transpire since Jim Gordon gets a new love interest as well. The fourth person necessary is Valerie Vail, portrayed by "Once Upon a Time" actress Jamie Chung.
"It's like a love quadrangle. He's got a love interest as well as Valerie Vail, a news reporter. It becomes really interesting further on in the season when these two women find themselves in the same room together," Baccarin told viewers of FOX 23.
"I think Lee is trying to move on and Jim is trying to move on but it's very apparent they have a lot of unfinished business," she added.
Thompkin's new lover is named Carmine Falcone also known as Don Falcone, the head of the Gotham city mob. The character was well established in the first season of the show. He ruled the city of Gotham through his crime syndicate but decided to leave after he realized Fish Mooney's (Jada Pinkett Smith) girls were just playing with his feelings.
McKenzie previously told TVLine that Gordon never intended to find a new love. But when he meets the aggressive and unapologetic news reporter, sparks began to fly. McKenzie also teased that his character will be facing many battles this season, and some would be for the one he loves.
