'Gotham' season 3 spoilers: A handful of villains head to the city, Ben McKenzie hints plans for James Gordon

Fox's hit crime TV series "Gotham" may have ended recently, but fans are already wondering what's in store for season 3 of the popular show. Looking at the sophomore season-ender, it seems like a handful of villains will terrorize the city once the series returns.
In the last moments of the season 2 finale, a busload of Strange's experiment subjects has been accidentally released. There are a lot of speculations on who could those monsters be, and executive producer John Stephens revealed some of the bad guys who will be present in season 3. "We'll be seeing Mad Hatter in Season 3, Stephens confirmed. "We'll be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if we're going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, we'll be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy."
Furthermore, rumor has it that Bane will be in the lineup of baddies, as seen in a recent promo poster circulating online. Joker is also speculated to return as his famous laugh was heard in the season 2 finale.
Meanwhile, James Gordon's portrayer Ben McKenzie hinted that it's not only the villains who will have a lot of presence next season. "Gordon is never going to be a bad guy,"the actor said. "He'll always be a hero. But to show Gotham as a fallen land, as a potentially anarchic environment, we have to allow our hero to become burdened by that and to do some terrible things. That's how you maintain power in a wasteland. That's how you keep the wolves at bay. You have to kill a lot of the wolves."
It seems like Gordon will have a ton of wolves to kill next season, as Gordon mentioned their aim for the show's comeback. "Our goal in Season 3 is to continue to push," McKenzie continued. "Gordon is capable of doing even worse than killing Theo Galavan in cold blood, and we will see that in future seasons."
As of now, the network has yet to announce a premiere date for "Gotham" season 3.
