'Gotham' season 3 news, updates: Behind-the-scenes photos hint Killer Croc appearance, image of Fish Mooney's return revealed

The season 2 finale of "Gotham" hinted more villains entering the story to cause more trouble in the city. With only a few months to go before the series returns for its fourth season, new behind-the-scenes photos have been revealed by executive producer Danny Cannon.
In Cannon's Twitter profile, he shared some interesting promo stills teasing the surprising return of some characters and the debut appearance of others. Along with the images of series regulars including Jada Pinkett Smith, Camren Bicondova, Morena Baccarin and Donal Logue, Michael Chiklis can also be seen in one shot as Captain Nathaniel Barnes. Season 2 left off with him sustaining serious injuries, but it seems that he finally recovered and is back in top shape.
A new reptilian-looking character appears to be the TV incarnation of Killer Croc a.k.a. Waylon Jones. However, the cannibalistic character will reportedly make his live-action introduction in next month's "Suicide Squad," so he will probably not go by that name. A bat-nosed character will also be one of the villains but his name is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, one of the BTS photos reveals Fish Mooney seemingly making a dramatic appearance. Fish was brought back from the dead by Dr. Hugo Strange in the previous season, and she was driving the bus carrying Strange's experiment subjects before abandoning them. A homeless woman eventually sets the creatures free and viewers are in for an interesting third season when Gotham turns into a monster-infested city.
Another on-set image shows Jim Gordon battling it out with an Indian Hill escapee who looks like a cross from Godzilla and Killer Croc. Screen Crush points out that the actor might be former Green Bay Packer Michael Montgomery but the network has yet to confirm this. Other villains to be in the next season includes Jervis Tetch a.k.a. The Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, Talon, the Court of Owls and Solomon Grundy.
Catch the season 3 premiere of "Gotham" which is scheduled to air on Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
