'Gotham' season 2 spoilers: Theo Galavan lives again as the new villain 'Azrael'

American crime drama "Gotham" is only two episodes away from finishing its sophomore run, and it seems that the plot will stop at nothing. The series' upcoming episode will introduce Azrael, a new villain who will terrorize the fictional city.
As indicated in the spoiler-filled photos from Comic Book Resources, Theo Galavan's death will bring forth an evil being in the character of Azrael. The new character is a result of Professor Hugo Strange's Project Chimera located in the Arkham Asylum.
In the previous episode, Bruce Wayne finally figured out that Hugo Strange was the one behind the evil plan that led to the death of his parents. According to the TV Guide synopsis, Bruce (David Mazouz) and Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will team up to take down Strange (BD Wong) to bring justice to his parents' death. Strange was able to create a new villain, when he resurrected Theo Galavan as Azrael. Strange will use Azrael to hunt Gordon down, after he questioned Stange's Project Chimera. As seen in the previous episodes, Project Chimera was a result of Strange's twisted mind where he performs weird experiments to people in the Pinewood Farm facility, before it eventually was shut down by Thomas Wayne.
As noted by The Futon Critic, the official synopsis for the next episode reads:
"A strange discovery will be made in Gotham city on an all-new 'Gotham' Monday, May 2 on FOX. Gordon and Bruce question Professor Strange about Project Chimera, which leads Strange to send the newly resurrected Galavan to confront Gordon. Meanwhile, Nygma investigates who Professor Strange is in the all-new 'Wrath of the Villains: Azrael' episode of Gotham."
The second season of "Gotham" airs Mondays 8:00 p.m. EST on FOX. The upcoming episode titled "Wrath of the Villains: Azrael" airs on May 2, and the promo clip can be viewed here.
