'Gotham' New Episode Recap: Assailants Try To Kill Selina Kyle

"Gotham" has just aired its mid-season finale and will return next on Jan. 5 for the second half of its first season. The 11th episode, titled "Lovecraft," saw assailants trying to kill Selina Kyle (played by Camren Bicondova).
"Gotham" airs at 8/7c on Fox every Monday.
The episode opened with attackers murdering the housekeeper in Wayne Manor after which they tried to enter the compound but were thwarted by Alfred (Sean Pertwee). This diversion allowed Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Selina to escape from Wayne Manor.
Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) then arrived to investigate. Gordon revealed his plan to trap Dick Lovecraft (Al Sapienza) by dangling Selina as bait, which caused Bullock and Alfred to flip out.
After Alfred and Bullock calmed down they agreed to help Gordon track down Bruce and Selina. Gordon visited Dent (Nicholas D'Agosto) who had leaked the information on Selina's location to Lovecraft and knew where he was.
Meanwhile, Selina and Bruce arrived in Gotham city where she began teaching him how to survive on the street as Alfred and Bullock tried to find them.
Gordon finally cornered Lovecraft and learned that he was not the one who ordered the hit on Selina, leading to speculation that a bigger criminal organization was involved. Lovecraft was eventually killed by assailants who also tried to incapacitate Gordon.
Selina and Bruce were then lured to come out by gangsters but were saved by Gordon, Alfred and Bullock. Selina managed to escape. In the final scene she sneaked into Wayne Manor to kiss Bruce.
Gordon was later demoted from detective to security guard at Arkham asylum. According to the producers of the show, the asylum will be the setting for many of the episodes in the second half of the first season.
