Google Nexus Phone 2016 release date, specs news: HTC involved in 'Sailfish' Nexus, to feature fingerprint scanner?

There has been very limited information regarding the next batch of Google Nexus smartphones this year. It is rumored that HTC will be manufacturing the new Nexus 2016 models, although other reports suggest that the company will not be involved in the creation of the Android-powered devices. However, the specs detail of a Google Nexus smartphone was allegedly leaked online, and the specs leak reveals that HTC was actually the creator of the new Nexus phone.
According to rumors, the Google Nexus 2016 smartphone that is set to be released this year will actually come in two variants. iDigital Times reported that the names of the two Nexus phones are "Marlin" and "Sailfish." There have been no confirmed reports yet about the names and descriptions of the two rumored Nexus devices, although it is believed that their codenames are actually related to the type of smartphone that the two devices are going to be. Marlin is expected to be the smaller 5-inch phone while Sailfish will be the 5.5-inch model.
Just recently, the specs of one of the two Nexus 2016 smartphone variants were leaked. Specifically, the details of the Sailfish model were published online as reported by Android Police. The full specs description of Sailfish, also tagged as S1 or T50, includes a Quadcore 2.0 GHz 64-bit processor chipset, matched by an expanded 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Its camera feature is expected to be a notch higher than those of the previous Nexus phones, with 12 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. It will also sport a higher 2,770 mAh battery capacity.
It is also interesting that the Sailfish smartphone will be having a rear panel fingerprint scanner, making its security feature more sophisticated. It will also sport a USB Type-C port, upgraded Bluetooth 4.2, and the latest Google operating system, Android N.
