Google has been making a lot of noise in the tech industry lately. After the announcement from the company that the new Android N operating system will be called Android Nougat, several reports have surfaced suggesting that the highly anticipated Google Nexus 2016 will be released in two versions. These variations will be called the HTC Sailfish and the HTC Marlin.

Previous reports all over the internet said that Google has tapped HTC to help them manufacture their upcoming flagship smartphone. According to the latest reports, it appears that Google and the Taiwanese tech company has come up with a deal to build the new Nexus handset.

In a report by Android Police, the two companies are said to be currently working on two devices, which can be considered as sequels to the current Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Although details about the devices' development and release date are not out yet, industry observers believe that it is only a matter of time before the American Internet search giant starts announcing them.

Meanwhile, the official details about its specs and features have yet to be provided by either Google or HTC. However, fans and critics have already shared their predictions on what to expect from the new Google devices.

According to reports, the most significant difference between HTC Sailfish and HTC Marlin is the screen size. Apparently, HTC Marlin is bigger with its 5.5-inch display compared to HTC Sailfish, which only has 5-inch screen.

Although nothing has been set in stone yet, it appears that both devices will share almost the same specs under the hood. The reports added that the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 will run on a quad-core processor from Qualcomm, which will be paired with 4 GB of RAM.

Other features include a USB Type-C port, a 12 MP primary shooter and an 8 MP selfie camera. Both Sailfish and Marlin are said to be getting the same Quad HD AMOLED display.
