Golden State Warriors trade rumors: If Dubs fail to win championship, will Durant leave?

Everybody knew that the Golden State Warriors were a title contender heading in, but with the addition of Kevin Durant, many believed that they are now surefire champions.
The question remains as to whether this team could stick together long enough to get through this campaign and the coming years as well.
Many are wondering how the ball would go around and how three shooting superstars can share the offensive load without sacrificing too much.
In the pre-season, it was evident just how scary Durant's arrival is. Things are just flowing for the team and the Warriors are looking to climb upwards.
With the season poised to begin, it seems that chemistry talks and rumors on the team eventually breaking up is put to rest, with Durant at center stage and ready to play as a Warrior.
But does falling short of winning a championship mean that the experiment has failed and they should reconfigure the pieces?
There is no doubt about the abilities of the players in their own rights.
Durant's transition from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Warriors was smooth and it showed just how he can adapt when needed. However, based on his current contract, there is a feeling that if things do not go as planned, Durant may very well move on and go elsewhere.
As for the Warriors, the thought of that happening would be damaging to the franchise, considering the number of players they gave up to acquire Durant.
Sure, they will still have contenders as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are still great shooters, while Draymond Green is not afraid to do the dirty work. However, that may only go so far as the rest of the teams are desperately trying to catch up.
So in more ways than one, this season is big for the Warriors and anything else but winning a championship may be considered a failure.
